Meet Jenny Ackerman, Senior Manager, Creative

When Jenny Ackerman thinks about design, she thinks beyond the final asset.

“My job is to make the brand feel cohesive, intentional, and memorable, so that every detail supports the bigger picture,” Ackerman said.

For her, the work is about how every visual detail ladders up to something bigger: a brand that feels cohesive, intentional, and memorable.

As Senior Manager, Creative at Pebl, Ackerman leads the design team within the Brand Studio, shaping how Pebl shows up across campaigns, content, brand systems, and every touchpoint in between.

Based in Southern California, Ackerman balances creative work with a full home life alongside her husband, their very opinionated one-year-old daughter, an endlessly energetic Australian Shepherd, and baby number two on the way.

“Our life is a balance of trying to maintain a routine while embracing the chaos,” she said.

Building Pebl’s visual identity

Ackerman joined Pebl during a major moment of transformation: the rebrand from Velocity Global to Pebl. At first, her role focused on making sure everything critical for launch reflected the new brand. Now, her work has shifted toward building on that foundation through marketing campaigns and continued development of Pebl’s visual language.

A typical day moves quickly between campaign development, brand system updates, design reviews, and project kickoffs. And when creative blocks happen, Ackerman has learned to shift gears.

“If I get stuck or hit a creative wall, there’s always something else in the queue needing attention, so I’ll usually shift gears and come back with fresh eyes,” she said.

Finding new ways to create

Since joining Pebl, Ackerman has been exploring how AI can support and expand her creative process. What started as a tool for efficiency has grown into a new way to experiment, especially through Midjourney for campaign imagery.

“Sometimes it delivers exactly what you want, other times it takes an unexpected turn, but it’s opened up new ways of thinking about image-making,” she said. “It really is a journey.”

That curiosity carries into how Ackerman approaches the work overall. She describes herself as a tinkerer: someone who doesn’t really believe in “done,” only “better.”

“There’s always room to push something further or make it better, and Pebl is a place that encourages that mindset,” she said.

A Brand Studio built on collaboration

Ackerman describes Pebl’s culture in three words: nimble, flexible, and dedicated. She credits her team’s openness and trust with creating space for sharper ideas and stronger creative work.

“My team is incredibly supportive and open to ideas,” she said. “There’s a strong sense of collaboration, and space to push thinking.”

That collaborative energy came through clearly while pitching concepts for Pebl’s first brand campaign, one of Ackerman favorite memories so far.

“I left each of those meetings feeling really inspired by everyone’s work and creative thinking,” she said.

For Ackerman, seeing that work launch is the most rewarding part.

“When something launches from concept to reality, it’s a great reminder of what the whole team built together,” she said. “That, and billboards. Billboards are cool.”

Meaningful work, inside and outside of Pebl

Ackerman's work helps make Pebl’s mission more visible and easier to understand. While Pebl solves complex global hiring challenges, design helps translate that complexity into something people can quickly connect with.

“The best teams don’t always live in the same place, and where people choose to live shouldn’t limit their opportunity to make an impact in the world,” she said. “Getting to support that through my design work feels meaningful. It feels like helping people.”

Outside of Pebl, Ackerman’s life looks a little different than it did a few years ago. Beach yoga and vegan cooking have given way to life as a toddler wrangler, and her colleagues might be surprised by the lengths she’ll go to source a niche vintage item.

“Some people like skydiving,” Ackerman said. “I prefer the thrill of tracking down a vintage credenza and navigating international shipping.”
